Publication name and privacy contact
The Software Edit is operated by an individual based in Japan. It is an editorial name, not a registered company. The operator is responsible for handling enquiries and records held by the publication. For privacy questions, requests concerning your information, or the legally required details of the responsible operator, email aikensho0906@gmail.com.
Where Japanese law permits operator details to be supplied in response to a request, we will provide the required information to the person concerned without delay. This procedure does not replace any identity or contact information that another applicable law requires us to provide when collecting personal data.
Website delivery and security
This website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical request information, which can include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information and security events, to deliver and protect the service.
Email enquiries
If you email the editor, your email address, message and any attachments are received in the Gmail mailbox used by The Software Edit. We use them to respond to your enquiry or investigate a correction. Clicking an email link opens your email application; it does not automatically send a message. Do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive account screenshots.
Affiliate links and other websites
Offer buttons for beehiiv and systeme.io contain a referral identifier. When you follow one, the vendor or its affiliate provider may record the referral and use cookies or similar technology to attribute a later signup or purchase. Their privacy and cookie notices govern that activity. We may receive referral or commission reports under the program; do not assume those reports are anonymous.
Retention
Our retention policy is to keep enquiry records only while needed to answer the enquiry, investigate a correction, or resolve related follow-up. Records needed for an ongoing dispute or a legal recordkeeping obligation may be kept longer for that purpose. Referral and commission records are kept only as needed to reconcile payments, resolve disputes, or meet applicable accounting and tax obligations.
Deletion requests are handled by the editor, not by an automatic deletion system. Provider backup and retention practices may differ from deletion of records under our control. Contact us to ask what publication-held information remains and why it is needed.
International processing
Cloudflare, Google and external vendors may process information in countries other than yours. Their linked privacy notices describe their own processing. Those notices do not replace our responsibilities for information under our control.
Your choices and requests
You can read the guides without sending us an email or creating an account with us. You can visit vendors directly instead of following a referral link and manage cookies in your browser or on the vendor’s site. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, or complain to a supervisory authority. Contact the editor about publication-held data and the relevant provider about its own processing. We may need proportionate information to verify a request.
Children and policy changes
This publication is intended for people choosing software for a business or creative project, not for children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact the editor. We will update this page before adding materially different data collection or tracking.
